Do You Qualify?

Who qualifies for Ambulance Transportation?

Amistad Ambulance strictly complies with the rules for ambulance transportation established by Medicare and Medicaid. 


Transportation by ambulance is appropriate if either: the patient is bed confined;

  • Unable to get out of bed without assistance
  • Unable to sit in a chair
  • Unable to walk

Or if the patient's medical condition is such that transportation by ambulance is medically required whether or not the patient is bed confined.

If someone does not qualify, what options do they have?

If you are not bed confined, or do not medically require ambulance transportation, we also provide wheelchair van transportation. 


*Insurances do not cover wheelchair van transportation, this can only be done through private pay.
